REGISTRATION OF AUSTRALIAN CITIZENS

The overseas offices of the Australian Government maintain for the benefit of Australian citizens a register of their contact details overseas for use in relation to consular activities, for example, to facilitate contact in an emergency or to advise Australian citizens of upcoming events such as elections. The information contained in the register is protected by the Privacy Act 1988 and can only be divulged under the provisions of that Act.

We encourage all Australians staying in or visiting Peru for greater than 3 months to register with us. You can do so by visiting the website www.orao.dfat.gov.au and completing the online registration form. A hard copy of the Australian Citizens Registration Form can also be obtained at the Australian Consulate-General. Personal information collected includes name, date and place of birth, occupation, home and business addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, passport details, other nationality, arrival and departure dates, and similar information of family members.
Once you have registered your details, we ask that you amend them should there be any change or when you leave Peru permanently.
